Default such as it is

hi!

Would you check my examples? I'd like to make sure 'such as it is' is used correctly.

1. He attended the top-of-the-table clash during his stay in Hungary. Allegedly, it was a great match, such as it is - Hungarian soccer is so bad.

2. Vote for Hicks; he seems reliable, such as it is - the majority of presidents lies.
