Use a good dictionary to get examples of sentences.

Try asking an English speaker if the way you want to use the word is correct before you start using it in conversation.

When you use a new word, watch the listener carefully to see if they understand you.

Don't be afraid to ask if it's right.

Don't try to introduce too many new words at a time.

While dictionaries are the most pbvious source of words, they can lead to using words that aren't used much, so try to take examples that you find in newspapers, conversation, from the TV, etc.
