Think you are talking about the same boy in both sentences,so you use the so called relative for people(who) as the subject of the second one,who is relating to "that boy"

To my way of thinking, if a person asks if a sentence is correct that person wants to know if the sentence is grammatical. The sentence in question is certainly grammatical. How much sense it makes is another question.
