Default a grammar question

Unfortunately, adults don't usually offer early adolescents ---- warm indulgence and social protection that they provided a decade earlier.

A) too
B) as much
C) more
D) the same
E) such as

I am stuck in this question. Is "that" OK in the question stem? Or is it "than"?

"That" could be correct. As it stands, the correct answer is D.
