Default babyno1's question list

good to be back!
Here's the trouble: "when companies run into trouble, the desire for a quick fix can become overwhelming...It held pep rallies, launched programs, grabbed fads, fired CEOs, hired CEOs and fired them yet again. Lurching from one silver bullet solution to another, the company never gained any traction."
Why did the author use "silver bullet", not golden or another?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The metaphor of the silver bullet applies to any straightforward solution perceived to have extreme effectiveness. The phrase typically appears with an expectation that some new technology or practice will easily cure a major prevailing problem. The term originates from folklore. Traditionally, the silver bullet is the only kind of bullet for firearms that is effective against a witch, vampire, monster, or a person living a charmed life.
