| I`d like to know why do you say ten million pounds and not ten millions pounds. Also, can you say: 2 millions have shown up or should you say two million people have shown up for the concert? Many thanks. |

| In the phrase ten million pounds the ten million acts as an adjective, and we don't pluralize adjectives. Say, "Two million people have shown up for the concert." :) |

| We use the plural when the number is not specified-millions of people voted in the election. |
