    Smile Can I use "guide"?

Hello, I have a question about when to use the word "guide"

I'm now making a brochure of the products of my company, which are mainly textbooks and some other products related to education.
And I need to decide what word to put on the cover of the brochure, a kind of title.

My predecessor used the word "guide" as a title, but somehow it sounds a bit strange to me.

Is it OK to use "guide" in this case or should I use another?

    Thank you for your help.

    How about 'Publications'?

    Hello, Tdol,

Do you think native speakers would use "guide" for such brochures as I mentioned in my last mail?

Could "Guide" be appropirate in this case?

    Thank you for your help.

You'd like to use "catalogue" as it is a list of products that you offer to be sold. This is what big publishing houses use.

When I worked for OUP, 'catalogue' was reserved for the big book that listed everything they published. Twice a year, they published a brochure known internally as 'the seasonal list'; but on the cover it said 'Autumn/Spring Books from OUP'.

I have in front of me the 'McGraw-Hill Language Catalogue': that's the sub-title. But the main title is Lost for Words - which shows that you can use anything you like for a title. I think Guide would be fine - perhaps with a more explanatory title that uses the word 'catalogue'.

Thank you three for your help.

From what you explained to me, catalogue is the most general word for a brochure which introduces products of a company, not guide. Am I right?
Guide could be used just because anything could be a title of a catalogue.
Guide is not commonly(often?) used as a title of brochures which introduce products of companies, is it?

    I appreciate your help.
