i'm confused...is it content or contented( like satisfied)?i mean, most of the adjectives end with "d"...can i say i'm contented?how can i use these two. secure or secured?again, how can i use them?thanks!
They have similar meanings. The difference (and it is true of other cases which have an adjective and a past participial adjective) is that the past participle has a bit of the passive voice in it.
For example we talk about "contented cows" because it is usually somebody who has made the cows content.
But we say "We were content to wait for the results." That feeling comes from within.
