The user sends PPP data packets to the DSLAM. Then, the DSLAM encapsulates the data packets into PPPoE packets according to the MAC address of the BRAS and the MAC address allocated by the DSLAM to the user, and sends the packets to the BRAS. For the downstream packets, the process is on the contrary.
