| 10, or 10 dollars, is there any other colloquial words or phrases available? 100, or 100 dollars 1000 or 1000 dollars, I know that 1000 dollars could be 1 grand 10,000 I know that 10,000 dollars could be 10 grands 100,000 or 100,000 dollars 1,000,000 or 1,000,000 dollars I'm studying how the native speakers speak the numbers in their daily life instead of written english or on formal occasion. Like 150 to be ONE FIFTY, instead of one hundred and fifty(this is right ,but people use the former one a lot), or 1,600 will be sixteen hundred instead of one thousand six hundred(this is right too) I don't know if there is any other cases that they speak in a different way from what taught by the textbooks? |

| Here in my corner of the US, I only see K used to represent thousands in newspaper headlines. I don't think I've ever heard it in everyday speech, except meaning kilometers, like a 10k race. |
