| | RULES OF GREETING AND CC (Carbon Copy) I am Sohail from Pakistan. I want to learn English especially office correspondens. My English is too weak.
My Questions are.
1. What rules using a word ATTENTION in office correspondense ?
2. During offical correspondense Can we use a word an ATTENTION before Name in greetings especially with our seniors (By designation)
3. What order will be in our mind in CC (Copy to Others for information) |

3. What order will be in our mind in CC (Copy to Others for information) | If by " office corresponden ce " you mean letters to other companies, it would not be good practice to used "ATTENTION".
If you mean internal correspondence, it should only be used if you are making the other person/people aware of a matter of urgency. I would never use it if addressing someone senior.
In this case, I would say
"Dearxxxxx,
I would like to bring to your attention .... " |

Otherwise, it's traditional to list the most senior people first in a CC list (president, vice president, managers, etc). Those who are equal in "rank" should then be listed alphabetically. |
