Is it possible to use the following sentence structure?

"I appreciate your calling"

or

"I insisted on his going"

Yes, that is a common construction "possessive + gerund". It is also possible to convey the same meaning with "objective pronoun + participle", but the other form is preferred by many, at least in formal writing.

I appreciate your calling.
I appreciate you calling.

I insisted on his going.
I insisted on him going.
