Default Get down on it!

How you gonna do it if you really don't want do dance

By standing on the wall?
Get your back up off the wall
tell me.
How you gonna do it if you really don't want to dance

By standing on the wall. Get your back up off the wall

'Cause I heard all the people sayin':
Get down on it
come on and
Get down on it - if you really want it
Get down on it - you gotta feel it
Get down on it - get down on it
get down on it
Come on and get down on it
baby
baby
Get down on it - get down on it - get down on it.

I say people - what? What you gonna do?
You've gotta get on the groove
If you want your body to move
tell me
baby.

I've looked through a few sources on the proper usage of "get down" and found some answers: to party, to dance etc. Does "get down on it" here mean an encouragement to dance?

Can "get down to it" also be used above?

Can we use "get down on" and "get down to" interchangeably?

"Get down to" usually means to get serious about something, to settle in and work on or sort out a situation or problem.

"That's enough fooling around," the boss told us, "let's get down to work so we can leave here at a decent hour."

Sometimes "get down to" can be used in reference to music:
"All right everybody!" the DJ announced. "It's time to get down to the old school sounds of Kool and the Gang!"
This means the DJ is encouraging everyone to get up and dance.

"Last night my ol' lady and I got down to some Barry White and Teddy Pendergrass."
In this case, "got down" means they had sex while listening to the music.
