Default adverbial or nominal "when" here?

1) A day will come when you no longer remember my face.

Parse this sentence for me, please.

IMO, when is an adverb connector here.
adverb sub-clause

OK. Then tell us what you've concluded. You are learning, and that's a good thing.

Hello

A day will come when I no longer remember your face

Syntax and meaning remain intact if I change the place the nominal relative clause:

A day, when I no longer remain you face, will come.

When refers to the day, not the verb.
The day will come anyway -- they always come. :)

Am I right, MNY?;)
