That doesn't work for me- you could have 'I wish I could have studied abroad' or 'I wish to have been able to study abroad', though the second seems rather forced to me, but does fulfill the requirements.
I wished to study abroad. But I couldn't
= I wish to ( ) ( ) abroad.
What would you put in the ( ) ( ) to make the frist two sentences almost equal with the the second one.
I think "I wish to (have) (studied) abraod. Correct?
Thank you very much, always.

Thans Tdol, If the quesetion is "I wished to (have)(studied) abroad", does it work? Or what would you put there, I wished to ( ) ( ) abroad?
Thanks
It's possible, but it would imply that the possibility had finished at the time of the wish, but again I would use 'wished I could have'
Thanks Tdol, I understand that.
