I'm new member and learning English writing and speaking. Please check my below paragraph and let me know my mistake.

When I woke up in the morning and saw outside from the bedroom window and found that there was a heavy rain. Then I decided to work from home, as weather condition was not good for drive. But it was really beautiful weather, because it was heavy ran with good temperature. "

In the morning when I woke, I looked from my bedroom window and saw that it was raining heavily. I decided to work from home as the weather made it hazardous to drive. Although it was raining heavily it was very pleasant as it was not cold.

Why did u write like " It was ranning heavily " can we not write " It was heavy rain ?? If yes then why no then also why?
