Default Who and whom

I know who is subjective and whom is objective, but I haven't seen enough examples diagramed to know, confidently, which to use.

Two examples of both diagramed would be great if anyone can spare the time, especially a moderator.

Thanks and Happy Holidays,

Rob

Who is it?
Whom were you expecting?

Sorry about the diagrams - not my thing. (I'll sit back and watch )
