    Hi, teacher,
    Yesterday I read a article about the NBA player, Yao, and met the following phrase in this article, could you pls tell me the meaning of the word 'post' in 'post-Yao area'?

    I'm not sure. If he is a great player and is leaving or moving, then the 'post-Yao era' makes sense, as it will mark a new time for the club. I was thinking it could be a typo.

    In American basketball, "post" refers to an offensive position near the lane to the basket (the "key"). There is a high post position near the free-throw line and a low post position near the basket. If I could read the entire article I could probably better explain what the writer was talking about.

    'ken' is an old word that survives in some dialects and a few phrases meaning 'know'.
