Default Good Things

Dear Teachers,

A. If your son stacks the dishwasher or does his homework, let him know that you're proud of him and noticed. Gradually it should rub off on him.
- What does "rub off on him" mean here?

B. Live well, and then good things will come to you.
- Is this natural?

Thanks a million
