Default usage of the verb - find

Please correct the following sentence:

When I walked into the room, I found him killed. (right?)

or it should be : When I walked into the room, I found him dead.

The first is probably acceptable, but the second is more natural.

For the first, you could say: When I walked into the room, I found that he had been killed.
