Hi,
If you were in a bar, which would you choose to say:
1. Whiskey on the rocks, please.
2. The whiskey on the rocks, please.
3. A whiskey on the rocks, please.
I think both #1 and #3 are possible. Am I right?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, you are.
And on US TV shows I've heard the abbreviation 'Whisky rocks'.
People [not just US] also often name their brand: 'Bell's on the rocks', 'Jack Daniels on the rocks'...

You would have to specify at least the type of whiskey, i.e. scotch, burbon, rye, etc.
I'll have a Scotch and water then. ;-)
I'll take a burbon, neat, please.
It's Bob's round, I believe. ;-)
Bob seems to be off. :-)
Thank you all.
Merry Christmas!
Whiskey (with an e) is irish
Whisky is scotch
And the e is meaningful?
