Default I'd like to hear your explanation. (plz help)

Hi... please read the below dialogue, choose the best expression for the blank.

Answer choices "a,c,d" all seemed Ok to me. I'd like to hear

your explanation why only "C" can be an answer.

Tom: I see you're changing the oil.
Bill: Yes, it hasn't been changed in a long time.
Tom: Want any help?
Bill: Sure, if you don't mind.
Tom: ______________
Bill: Thanks, I appreciate it.

(A) No, not at all.
(B) You've got to believe it.
(C) I'd happy to give you a hand.
(D) I don't mind.

Actually, in normal, casual English conversation, either A or D would be the most appropriate response, and are the phrases you'd hear most often in that type of situation. "I'd be very happy to give you a hand" sounds extremely formal and stilted and is found more in text books than in actual conversation.

In AmE, the most common repsonses when someone says "if you don't mind" are:

Not at all.
Of course I don't mind.
Don't mind a bit.
No, I don't mind.
