For our research we're trying to find a word, we suspect to be tray-counter but we are not sure:![]()
Description: Its a desk at our faculty restaurant, where we bring our dirty dishes, plates and food-garbage after lunch. You have to sort your stuff there on trays, and a restaurant employee behind the desk does the rest.
Thanx a bunch!
It would be a counter, so I can't see what's wrong with your term. I don't know of an 'official' term.![]()
That countered area is called a bus station or bus(s)ing station in North American. The word 'bus' refers to heavy traffic of trays filled with food, garbage, etc, coming and going, where one (usually called a 'buser' or server) clears the trays, plates, and so on. Some bus stations tend to have refill stuff, too, such as cutlery, salt&pepper refills, water, ice, and napkins.Originally Posted by Tune
