Question usage
Hi
I have recently doubted about popularity,usage and style notes of these two types of sentenses.Would you please spell it out?
  1. “He gave the report to his secretary to be typed.”
  2. “He gave the report to his secretary to type.”

The first sentence is correct.

The second is fine to me, and I think it would be the more 'popular' form, at least in British English.
