Hi guys,
I have some words and I am not sure if the translation is correct
1) "venerable toymaker "(LEGO) means the old toymaker, don't it.
2) "they (LEgo) prospered with its ethereal corporate phylosophy and openly professed disregard for maximizing profits"
prospered means to be successful
ethereal = heavently but I am not sure
professed = to state openly
and disregard? maybe they do not emphasise on profits
3) to abound means to spread rumours e.g.?
4) to go astray = to go not in the right way,?
5) to mess with ?
6)Does "injected some toys of their own money" means introduce or invest
7)core products mean base?
8) What does "gadgets"mean

Venerable means highly regarded or respected (probably through age or experience)
Prospered means to be financially succesful/make profit, flourish, become rich.
Ethereal means to have a spiritual way of thinking.
Professed means that it made a statement that it believed in.
Disregard means that they are not interested in what others think.
Abound means to be full of or plentiful.
To go astray means to lose your way or take the wrong path.
To mess with means to interfere or go against what is regarded or acceptable or 'right.'
Hi you say "to mess with" means to go against something and if it is said
" I told you not to mess with Lego's brand" does it mean to compete with the brand of Lego, to try to go in the same direction as LEgo
Do you know what "gadgets" mean and to inject smth on their own money
And if you say "Rumours abounded that the comp. will take over it rival" does it mean that rumours are spreading to much about, I don't know how to explain it
thanks

To mess with Lego's brand means to use the logo illegally or some other infringement of their copyright or registered trademark
'gadgets' are things that are used for a purpose, like a bottle opener is a handy gadget.
'Inject some of their own money' means putting personal cash into a project or company.
'Rumours abound' means there are lots of different rumours regarding the takeover of the company
'Core product' means main or most important.
Hi,
I am fully confused about this "to mess with"
in my article it is said the the heirs of Lego appointed one man, a consultant to get the company back on track and after speaking to toy retailers, they told him not to mess with Lego's brand or its core product....
Does this mean that they told him not to use its own brand or not to change the strategy of the Logo's brand, not to act against its own company.
