Hi,
Please, what does the remark mean?
“Brits" at least sounds plausible as a short form of Briton or British, and yes, we are sadly aware of our status as the redheaded stepchild of the English-speaking world (rolling eyes).
I’ve always thought the emoticon meant wondering or surprise.
Thanks in advance.
I'm rather different from you. When I chat in yahoo, there is an emotion of "rolling eyes" and it means that sb is silly or you are laughing at sb (no offensive, just for fun). So I think in this case, the word means funny
It's just my opinion![]()
I agree with Damnit- it's meant to suggest that there is no offence meant by the remarks.![]()
Thanks, Damnit and Tdol.
I had looked in a dictionary and it doesn’t tell abt any emotions expressed by it; it gives an example, Don’t roll your eyes at me! What could be the context for this exclamation?
Here’s a dialogue from a joke book:
1st monster – That girl over there just rolled her eyes at me.
2nd monster – Well roll them back, she might need them.
Does it only mean she stared or does it give some additional info abt the way she did?
It could mean that she was trying to signal to him that she found him attractive.
Thanks.
I dare remind, there's one more question.
It could be any context- surprise, shock, sexual attraction, amusement- any con text in which someone might communicate by rolling their eyes.
Thank you very much, Tdol.
