could you please tell me what "principal" means in the following sentence:

Company XXX will provide company YYY an action plan report every 3 months of the principal on matters concerning sales and sales opportunities.

What about? The main body of an estate. There's also,

Finance,

a) The capital or main body of an estate or financial holding as distinguished from the interest or revenue from it.

b) A sum of money owed as a debt, upon which interest is calculated.
- Funds put up by an investor.
- The original amount invested, separate from earnings.

It doesn´t make sense to me here. I think that "principal" here should mean something like "the most important matters", but I am not sure

It's the preposition on that's the problem or the solution.

Is the sentence supposed to read 'on matters' or 'principal matters'?

(a) Company XXX will provide company YYY an action plan report every 3 months of the principal on matters concerning sales and sales opportunities.

(b) Company XXX will provide company YYY an action plan report every 3 months of the principal matters concerning sales and sales opportunities.

If (a) on, then principal seems to refer to an estate, Note the final phrase 'concerning sales and sales opportunities'.

If (b), then your assumption works better.

And what exactly do you mean by "estate"?

"of principal" and "on matters" both refer to the report? If so, why are different prepositions used?
