Name/Named?

Could someone give me an example/s when to use name and named, please?!?!

'Name' can be a noun:
His name is James.

It can be a verb, describing the act of giving something a name:

I name this ship Queen Mary. (Smash bottleof champagne against the side)

Named is the past tense or past participle of the verb:

The police have named the suspect they are questioning about the murder: Robert Standish, 37, is being held at Paddington Police Station....

The first is. I'd rephrase the second:
Robert Standish, 37, named as the suspect in the murder by the police, is being held for questioning at Paddington Police Station.
