How to say in English about someone simply saying something to deal with some others in the hope to just make him satisfied or let him go.
How about
eg. He doesn't take you seriously ?
eg. He just pays lip service to you ?
But I find that the above examples are not exactly meant to the situation. Any comments
Thanks in advance
You could try "He is just humoring you."Originally Posted by whl626
A good option indeed :)
To be specific, someone is saying something trivial or unimportant and hopefully the listener will go :P
And the third person knows it and tell that person. He is just humoring you ?
Exactly. When one humors someone, one tells him something that he wants to hear and then one does what one wanted to all along. :wink:Originally Posted by whl626
