Hi!
Can we make a list of phrasal verbs and idioms which are evaluated in FCE and CAE exams?
I am preparing myself for those exams and I do not know what Idioms and Phrasal Verbs I am going to be evaluated in :S
Thanks! ;)
PS: One list for phrasal verbs and another for idioms.
You can, but there are no lists from Cambridge, so in theory they could test anything. They tend to stick with the more common verbs (take/put/get, etc), rather than ones like butter/trickle. So, I am afraid that it wouldn't be that much use. Familiarise yourself with the standard core verbs- I can't suggest much more than that.
Thanks!
What about idioms and sayings in CAE's exam?
They don't go much for idioms, so it's basically the best-known or ones that are comprehensible from context. The might test somethiong like 'storm in a teacup', but they wouldn't go for something like 'plain as a pikestaff'.
