Which relative pronoun?
"Granger because they were supported by farmers whom belonged to an organization called the Grange.
Should whom or who be used in this sentence? Also, would you break this sentence down into its clauses, classify them -- as if you were teaching a retard?
Thanks,
Rob

In this case, you need to use WHO. because who stands for farmers and farmers is the subject of the adjectival clause. The whole sentence can be written in two sentences:
1. They were supported by farmers.
2. Farmers belonged to an organization called Grange.

Re: Which relative pronoun?
It's not a complete sentence- it might be an answer to a question, but there's something missing about Granger.
