Pretend
The noun is pretense.

The word you asked about is 'pretentions'.

Slide
"We slid on the slide."
Also, "Jane was sliding down the slide when her mother called her."
A landslide is caused when heavy rainwater causes a large amount of mud to slide down a hill, for example.

Landslide is also used in politics, to refer to an overwhelming victory; "This candidate is so popular that everyone expects a landslide in the upcoming election."

The pool was dirty because it wasn't taken care of. Please edit.
This sentence is grammatically correct.

Altogether & all together.
Altogether means all-emcompassing. All together means in unison. For example:

Gina's father was involved in a car accident on Thursday, her dog ran away on Saturday morning, and she lost her wallet on Saturday night. This was altogether too much to handle at one time.

(Note: there's an obscure reference to being naked: She was surprised to see him swimming in the lake in his altogether. This is an old-fashioned reference; you most likely won't see it in more modern writing.)

After the altos, sopranos and tenors had practiced their parts separately, the music teacher had them sing all together.

The five of us arrived at the party in the same car, and we planned to leave all together.

Default Re: pretend and slide

O.K., If English is not confusing enough for you:

We swing on the swing and slide on the slide.
