I would say "click on xxxxxxxxxxxxx" or "click here"
Please tell me if when refering to a hyperlink the phrasal verb is click here for: blah blah blah or click here on: blah blah blah?
I would say "click on xxxxxxxxxxxxx" or "click here"
Different IT suppliers have different preferred styles. For example, in preparation for Windows 95 Microsoft issued a style guide that bans the phrase 'click on'. Supposedly, no Microsoft help text says 'click on the Apply button'; just 'click Apply'. (I say 'supposedly' because I don't know of a Microsoft rule that they don't break; for example, their User Interface guidelines for W95 stipulated that the first word to appear in the toolbar should be "File" - anyone looked at RegEdit?).
That said, I go along with Anglika's preferences.
