What's the context?
It can mean that the person is desperate or that they are unable to do anything which would help them to succeed at something.

I can't help myself to eat that cake This would mean that you are unable to assist yourself to do something, in this case "eat that cake". "I can't stop myself eating that cake" means that the temptation to eat the cake is very great.

I can't help myself to get home Passable - means that you are unable to help yourself find a way to go home. "I'm not able to go home" is a simple statement. "I'm not able to find a way to go home" expands the statement.

I can't help liking you ; I can't help wanting to learn English well.

Examples of how you can use "I can't help". Did you understand the rest of the posting?
