Default large object

I saw a large shiny object floating in the sea ...

My daugther asked me whether a glass bottle can be considered a large object. She is writing a composition based on the above sentence.

I would be very grateful if someone could provide me with an answer.

What an interesting point of view.

A champagne bottle could be described that way - especially if it's a magnum.

Well,in comparison to the sea, even THAT bottle wouldn't be so large.

It might be anything - the moon, a spaceship, a deep sea diving capsule, a VERY LARGE bottle - imagination is all that is needed

Well, all things are relative. The object is seen through the eyes of a child. What does she think is big? If she thinks a bottle is big then a bottle it should be.

But if Kohyoongliat's daughter was so convinced she wouldn't have asked, would she? It seems she was in doubt as well.

btw can we begin a sentence with 'but'? I seem to remember, many years ago, that some teacher had told us never to begin a sentence with 'but'

It's okay to start a sentence with 'but'. This I'm sure.
But (note that I start with 'But') what a large shiny object floating in the sea should be, I'm really at a loss although members have given some examples.

I believe you also wonder what the large shiny objects should be.
