Dear Teacher
Can you tell me whether singular and plural verb forms (is/are; was/were) are used for a sentence starting with 'neither' .
If neither is followed by "of" both singular and plural forms are possible. Neither of them is married ( formal) Neither of them are married (informal).
When we use neither with a singular verb we mean not one and not the other of two. Can we meet on Saturday or on Sunday? Neither day is convenient for me.
