Default Set aside / Put aside

I'm just wondering what is the difference of using "Set aside" and "Put aside"? Can I use both when I'm referring to money? Like these:

1. I have to set aside some money to buy a PS3.

2. I need to put aside some money for my future needs.

Are these correct? Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Set aside / Put aside

to set aside:to save for a particular purpose
e.g:He sets aside some time every day to read to his children.

to put aside:to save (something, esp. money) for use at a later time
e.g:We're putting aside $20 a week for our vacation.

hope it helps!
