Smile a fairy cake and one full-size candle

Well, OK, it was more of a slightly stale fairy cake, with one full-size candle shoved in it at a wonky angle.

Another question from "INDIE KIDD," and what do the words in bold signify? Thanks.

Oops. By the way, the candle in the photo is straight, not wonky, which means on an angle, awry.

Thanks, Casiopea, for the links and explanation. So, that's a fairy cake; why is it called a fairy cake? Because of its small size or something to do with fairies?

According to this author, 'the two things are a bit different, with fairy cakes being smaller and typically a specific kind of sponge cake (traditionally with icing), whereas a cupcake is a cup-sized cake of any sort. You can get fairy cakes of other types, but the assumption upon hearing "fairy cake" is that it's a vanilla sponge.'

To me, their size is just right for fairies.
