Start vs. Begin
I appreciate Newbie's laconic and helpful reply to the previous thread. Now I can see the principle. But troubles seem to be successive... And here's another problem of mine: Start vs Begin. Could anyone enlighten me on that, please?

Sorry I don't know about your point.
1. If you mean grammatically: both of them can take the gerund and the infinitive:
start/begin to work/working
2. Meaning and usage: start is used in certain contexts where begin is not possible: start the engine, get started, start a rival business. Travelling (we will have to start early...
