What is the difference beteen award and reward, present and gift ?

You give a present to your friend because it's his / her birthday for example. or at Christmas. (you don't give a reward or award here)

a gift is like a present you give someone you like, or you give because you want to thank,...

A reward is given to someone who has done something correctly. For example a student gets a 20 in a subject and his parents give him a reward.

An award is an official present given to somebody, usually in an official ceremony. For exampl Oscar (Academic Award).
