Pleae don't let this have happened(except--duh!--it has).

What does the interjection duh denote?
Second, is headteacher equal to homeroom teacher or headmaster? Thanks.

I think headteacher would be the equivalent of headmaster, but I'm not sure.

A headteacher is head of a faculty - e.g. science headteacher, English headteacher and so on.
