| Hi, Jackie, I think it's reasonable to start with transcription (it's the key to the English language), basic reading and pronunciation rules. A list of the rules? It would be too long. The easiest way is to use a good textbook which would gradually build up learners' grammar skill and vocabulary. I wonder if any of the forum's regulars knows such a book. Maybe, Raymond Murphy's English Grammar in Use (starting from Elementary)? Best wishes |
