    Lightbulb Is it an idiom?

    Is this sentence "I wish I could" an idiom? I could not find this in the idiom dictionary. If not let me know how these kind of sentence are called..

    No, it's not an idiom. It's just a nice expression. like this for instance : "I wish you were here"

    "I wish I could do" = "I regret that I can't do"

    it is not an idiom, it's grammatical structure
