Reaction to alcohol
Hi,
Most people’s spirits rise after some alcohol intake. Many become sentimental and generous.
There are some, however, who get peevish or pugnatious. In Russian we say He’s got a bad drunkenness. Could you tell me the English equivalent, please?
Thank you.

If a person gets disagreeable or argumentative while drinking, we say "he's a mean drunk."
Joe is usually a very nice guy, but watch out for him at the bar - he's a mean drunk!
