classroom
hi,
I have a question for you. What would you think about a student who does not participate too much in the class but the few times she does it, she is very good. Also, her writing and listening are almost perfect. How would you grade this student? Would you prefer a student who participates a lot and make many mistakes? Thanks .

If she participates when she feels it right to do so and does well, I'd grade her highly and let her be, unless I really felt that she could progress more by greater participation.

The level of participation in a class is affected by many aspects of one's personality. Some people learn more by participating, even if they make mistakes. Others learn better by observing and listening. I would grade a student on his/her progress more than the level of active participation.
