My concern is the use of prefect tense and past tense in this write-out especially the part which, I've highlighted. Is that okay?

Because my understanding is that one mustn't mix these two tenses in a sentence.

Yes...I understand it's a past event expressed in present perfect tense.

Is it okay to start with present prefect tense and then continue with past tense?

Unless if you tell me that "Have you ever been to" is past tense or there's some kind of exemption here then it makes sense.
