    http://www.bartleby.com/

    It also houses a dictionary.

<In another post, BobK gave me a link to bartleby's. When I got there, I wasn't sure what he wanted me to see, so I asked, "What am I looking for at batleby's.">

    All the best.

Thanks, Casiopea, for the link and extra info.

By the way, I couldn't curb my curiosity any more, but I have wanted to know what your alias refer to? Thanks.

This leads me to another question. In the above post, I had written 'Shouldn't Bartleby be with a capital letter?' and then I changed it to 'Should Bartleby be with a capital letter?' because it seemed to me that the first was a bit impolite. It gives the impression that I'm correcting you when I say it in that way. What do you think?

'Shouldn't Bartleby be with a capital letter?'
It's perfectly OK to use "shouldn't", nothing impolite about it, it is the only way to express your doubt.

'Should Bartleby be with a capital letter?'
You can only formulate the question, like you altered it, when you are in the act of writing that scentence yourself, and are in doubt if Bartleby should be capitalized or not.

It looks OK to me. The only reason why the 'Shouldn't...' question might be felt to be impolite, is when it is addressed to a very authoritarian person (or to a person in a position of authority in a culture that unquestioningly treats such people with deference). If you ask 'Shouldn't something', you're suggesting that someone thinks it should, and saying that you disagree; in some cultures, I imagine questioning authority in that way might be thought impolite.

But here, everyone's quite relaxed about differences of opinion.

Yes I noticed that but I like to treat you experts (I was asking Casiopea in this case) as such.
So.................shouldn't Bartleby be with a capital letter?
