Default memorable

Hi,

I was wondering whether my sentences are correct.

1. Portugal beat Sweden 1-0 to advance to the semifinals at the World Cup, though the game won't be memorable for the win but for the 10 yellow cards and 3 red cards awarded.

2. The president made a memorable announcement at the meeting. He was quoted as saying the government would cut taxes.

3. Susan and Bill consider the last night memorable.

Yes, though in 3 do you mean 'the last night' or 'last night'?

When I saw your post 'last year' and 'in the last year' crossed my mind. Or am I wrong to make a connection between them?

If I mean the most recent night they spent together, should we use 'last night'?

No- if the most recent night was some time in the past other than yesterday, then use the article.
