Education
Dear teachers,
I'd like to ask about the foreign language education in North America and Europe.
Is a foreign language a required course in primary, middle schools there? Is it a required course at universities?
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you in advance.

In the UK and Europe foreign languages are required. The age at which children start varies. In the UK, it is normally in secondary school- 11+. Foreign languages are not required at university here.

In the USA, that depends on the school district. A foreign language is required by some and not by others.
It also varies in colleges and universities, and in some colleges, it varies by a person's major.
