| | Re: I'd come across Yes. If you're speaking in the past tense, such as referring to something you'd encountered a while ago, but something you hadn't seen in a long while, you'd say "I'd come across." If it is something you see upon occasion, you'd say "I've come across."
Examples:
"A Wangenstein suction device? I'd come across it a few times years ago in nursing school, but I haven't seen one since."
"I've come across manual transmissions many times in my life, so I'm sure I'll be able to drive your car." |
